Step Into History: Ribbon Cutting and Guided Hike

Location: Patapsco Valley State Park, Howard County

Step Into History is back! Join MCHC and our partners from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Howard County Historical Society to unveil the culmination of our community outreach partnership. The celebration includes a ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by a hike to the old Avalon Nail and Iron Works forge site, led by Robert Bailey, historian and Historic Planner for the DNR.

The larger-than-life-size frame features a specially selected image from the MCHC collection celebrating Howard County’s history as Maryland approaches America’s 250th anniversary. Pose for a photo with the frame and share your picture on social media at #StepIntoHistory.
