Summer Sail Series—Oyster Wars: Battles Over the Bay’s Silver Bullet

All aboard! Join MCHC and Living Classrooms for a two-hour evening sail around Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. Chesapeake writer and educator Kate Livie comes aboard a sail on the sailboat SIGSBEE to share the fascinating history of the Oyster Wars, exploring oysters as an economic resource in the 19th century, all the way to the contemporary battle between environmentalists and watermen over oysters as environmental panacea.

Refreshments and activities are included in the ticket price. Space is limited. Registration is required. Passengers under the age of 9 years old will not be allowed to sail.
