Summer Teacher Institute 2023—Liberty and Justice For All?: Freedom and Citizenship in the New Republic
Focusing on events in Mid-Atlantic history, including the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, and the Early National period, participants will study how the Maryland region’s ideologies and progress reflect a nationwide reckoning with citizenship and freedom. Attendees will utilize scholars, presenters, and MCHC primary source collections to develop instructional material that will be the foundation for lesson plans. Suitable for K-12 educators.
The Teacher Institute will be live and synchronous throughout the week of July 17 to July 21, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The Institute is FREE for all, and participants will receive 2 CPD credits from the Maryland State Department of Education upon completion of the course.
