Victorian Picnic and Walking Tour: Green Mount Cemetery

Enjoy exclusive access to the Maryland Center for History and Culture, our staff, artists, and scholars through programming designed just for MCHC members. Experiences are limited and may be subject to change.

$35 per MCHC Member | $10 Picnic Box Lunch Option

Picnic like the Victorians at Green Mount Cemetery. Enjoy historic, tranquil green space and walk among notable Marylanders. Mark B. Letzer, MCHC President & CEO, will lead you along the winding paths and shaded dells of Baltimore’s rural garden cemetery. Before the advent of public parks, Baltimoreans during the Victorian era flocked to Green Mount’s idyllic landscape to stroll and picnic, finding retreat from urban living and the stresses of industrial growth. We will enjoy a picnic of our own on the crest of Green Mount, reflecting on the panoramic view of Baltimore as the Victorians once did.

Bring a chair or blanket and a lunch, or purchase a box lunch. Masks and social distancing required. Limited availability.

We’re sorry – this program is sold out.
