Table

Description

Federal style round table with gilt eagle heads and claw feet on casters. Table has round top with a brown velvet cover and a cross-banded rim inlaid with continuous serpentine brass ringing, and ebonized molded edge. Apron with gilt moulding at top, three drawers and three false drawer fronts. Drawers originally had round brass knobs with rosette motif; three ebonized and gilt wing griffins for supports, three ebonized animal hock legs with gilt acanthus carving on knees, volutes, and brackets of leafage with projecting bundles of reeds.
