Verso transcription: - Presented to the Maryland Historical Society / - by J. Appleton Wilson Dec. 12, 1919 - / The residence of Mr. William Wilson, Sr - / Born in Limerick, Ireland 1749. Died in Baltimore, March 30, 1824 - / Also the "Counting House" and office for nearly 100 years, of the shipping firm of William Wilson & Sons on s. side of Baltimore Street between Calvert & South, now 211 E. Baltimore Street. House was built by Robert Shields and was 105 Market Street in 1772 - Mr. W. was one of the founders of the Equitable Society and president of the Bank of Baltimore for 17 years. / - See Baltimore Sun, July 28, 1881 - "A Historic Landmark" - J. Appleton Wilson / House purchased by W.W. Feb. 14, 1774.
