Description

Doctor conducting an eye examination on a woman at Pier 9 in the Locust Point area of Baltimore, Maryland. The woman was among others who came in to Baltimore via the North German Lloyd steamship the SS Neckar. The doctor is looking for trachoma, an infectious disease of the eye.
