Baltimore Hon

Description

Baltimore Hon quilt depicting a woman with a beehive hairdo, flamingo, raven, crab cake, oriole, row homes, and black-eyed Susans. From creator Mimi Dietrich: “I wanted to make a Baltimore quilt with a lighter style. In 2010, I took a class with Mary Lou Weidman who is famous for her funky story quilts. Look closely at this quilt for elements from my other Baltimore quilts: swags of flowers, birds, embellishments, and especially the gathered flowers. Look for the Baltimore row houses, a crab cake, and a funky flamingo... Oh, and the ruby slippers, because there’s no place like home!”
