Crab Cake

Description

Crab Cake quilt depicting a crab on a cake stand with candles surrounded by hearts, dots, and a flower. From creator Mimi Dietrich: "When I made the ‘Hon Quilt,’ students were given a list of words that had multiple meaning. In Baltimore, we all know that a crab cake makes a great sandwich for lunch. But in Baltimore Album Quilts, there is often a block with fruit on a cake stand. What if I put a crab on the cake stand? What if there were birthday candles with buttons for the lights? Imagine a different kind of crab cake! Yes!”
