Description

A printed form letter from Secretary John I. Martin to T. Edward Hambleton, Sr. appointing Hambleton as the Assistant Sergeant of Arms of the Democratic National Convention. The letter has a decorative heading at the top as well as a small printed portrait of a man, likely John I. Martin, near Martin's signature. The letter is numbered 1173 in the lower left corner. Full transcription: Democratic National Convention / Baltimore / June 25th, 1912 / To T. Edward Hambleton, Sr. Esquire, / You are hereby appointed Assistant Sergeant at Arms of the Democratic National Convention. Please signify your acceptance and report for duty at Convention Headquarters Baltimore not later than 10 a.m. June twenty-fifth. / Yours truly, John L. Martin, secretary.
