George Washington in prayer at Valley Forge

Description

A print depicting George Washington in prayer at Valley Forge, a military encampment in Pennsylvania. The General kneels at the edge of a small body of water, surrounded by dense woods. He has laid down his sword, his right knee is on the ground, his left hand is on his chest, and he looks up to the sky. An "old Quaker" by the name of Potts has come upon the scene, observing the General's prayer from a distance. The words of the prayer are printed beneath the image.
