Flora Temple

Description

A print of trotting horse Flora Temple standing in a pasture. Flora Temple broke numerous racing records in the mid-19th century, and is the "BobTail Nag" referred to in the song "Camptown Races" by Stephen Foster. This image is captioned "Flora Temple. 2-24 1/2 in harness, Union Course, L. I. September 2, 1856."
