Portrait of Sarah Ramsay Barnes

Description

Daguerreotype portrait of Sarah A. (Ramsay) Barnes (1820-1879), the daughter of Nancy Agnes Andrews (1790-1866) and Joseph Ramsay (1786-1843) of Fells Point, Baltimore. She married Robert C. Barnes (1812-1893), a Baltimore bureaucrat, in 1839. They had two children together, Jennie (1840- ) and Robert C. (1842-1886), who married Emma Leary in 1876.
