Description

Daguerreotype portrait of Misses G. N. and Margaret Sprigg Oliver (1839-1902), taken in Baltimore, Maryland. Margaret was the daughter of Thomas Oliver (1802-1848) of Baltimore, and Mary Caile Harrison (1805-1873). In 1864, she married Henry Fenwick Thompson (1830-1910), also of Baltimore. The couple's children were Henry Oliver (1865-1937) and Charlotte de Macklott (1870-1926). The other girl in the photograph may be Margaret's older sister Elizabeth (1836-1908).
