Portrait of C.T.O. King

Description

Undated, three-quarter length portrait of C.T.O. King seated at a table. A native of Sierra Leone, King moved to Liberia in 1867 and served numerous political positions until eventually being elected Mayor of Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, in 1884. He was continually re-elected until 1890, during which time he also served as an agent of the American Colonization Society.
