Seth C. Beach

Description

Oil on canvas portrait painting of Seth C. Beach (1823-c. 1865) by Edward Bowers. Beach was born in Ohio. His family ultimately moved to Flint, Michigan where he later worked in retail and the lumber business. At some point, he moved to Baltimore and worked as a lumber merchant. In 1849, he married Sabina V. Bowers Beach (1824-1896) in Baltimore County, Maryland. After their marriage, the couple moved to Flint, Michigan and had two children.
