Susannah May Williams (Mrs. Jerome Napoleon Bonaparte)

Susannah was the daughter of Baltimore merchant Benjamin Williams (1767-1812) and Sarah Copeland Williams (1776-1870). On November 12, 1829, she married Jerome Napoleon Bonaparte (1805-1870), the only son of Jerome Bonaparte (1784-1860) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Patterson Bonaparte (1785-1879). William Patterson (1752-1835), her husband's grandfather, gifted "Montrose Mansion" in Reisterstown, Maryland for the couple to live in. They had two sons: Jerome Napoleon Bonaparte (1830-1893) and Charles Joseph Bonaparte (1851-1921). Susannah died at her home on Park Avenue in Baltimore after a long illness. She is buried in Loudon Park Cemetery.
