Description

Campaign Button made in Baltimore, Maryland for the 1912 Democratic National Convention in Baltimore. It was the first time that the Democratic Party somewhat supported women’s suffrage at a National level. Champ Clark was an advocate for voting rights for women and his wife was also a nationally known advocate for suffrage. Clark ultimately lost to Wilson at the convention, but continued his advocacy after the convention.
