Woman suffrage--not to be tolerated although advocated by the Republican candidate for the vice presidency

Description

Title page of the speech Maryland Democratic Congressman Stevenson Archer gave on the floor of the House of Representatives about women's suffrage. In the speech, he describes that "A monstrous army is now coming down upon us—a hundred thousand 'whirlwinds in petticoats'—which we must meet firmly, or be overwhelmed by the storm."
