Letter from James Reese Europe to Eubie Blake

Description

Letter written by bandleader, arranger, and composer James Reese Europe to his friend, American pianist, composer, and lyricist Eubie Blake. Europe mailed the letter from France where he had been fighting in World War I as a lieutenant with the 369th Infantry Regiment (the "Harlem Hellfighters") and eventually went on to direct the regimental band.
