Conversation (Group of Baltimore Girls)

Description

An interior scene of young women in a brothel. A young woman wearing a blue and white dress is reclined and gazing at her reflection while her long blonde hair is being brushed by the woman behind her. To the right, a woman in a pink and cream colored dress stands with her back to the viewer while holding a fan and speaking to the seated woman in the purple dress. In the background, a uniformed man is addressing another group of young women in the other room who pretend to be interested in him. A man is seen watching these women in the mirror in the background on the left side of the composition, conveying a sense of voyeurism.
