Baltimore Fire

Description

This landscape painting depicts a view of the Great Baltimore Fire that burned thousands of buildings in the city on February 8, 1904 from across the harbor. A smoky haze obscures much of the foreground of the painting while orange flames and clouds of black smoke are seen raging above the city skyline in the background.
