Campaign button and ribbon with plastic elephant. The button features a picture of Lewis Wendell Wilkie (1892-1944) who was a candidate in the presidential election of 1940. The elephant represents the symbol of the Republican Party. Wilkie was defeated by incumbent democrat President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1882-1945).
