Allegorical Female Emblematic of Independence

Description

This painting representing the theme of independence was featured as a panel on a Baltimore fire engine. The image features a woman in classical dress with a red cape holding sword in her right hand and her left arm in the air. The sword points to large piece of paper rolled at the bottom inscribed with the preamble to the United States Constitution. A blue shield with red and white stripes is seen at right.
