Baltimore Inner Harbor from Federal Hill

Description

View of the Inner Harbor and downtown Balitmore, Maryland as seen from Federal Hill. This full-plate daguerreotype was created by Henry H. Clark (1814-1899), who is generally recognized as Baltimore's first landscape photographer. The sidewheel steamship in the foreground is the "S. S. Tennessee," which was built for the Baltimore & Southern Packet Company. Visible in the background is the Baltimore Basilica at left and the Washington Monument at center.
