Caulk’s Field Monument unveiling

Description

Katharine B. Hoppes and Nettie Crane at the unveiling of the Caulk's Field Monument in Kent County, Maryland. Located on Caulk's Field Road between Fairlee and Tolchester, the monument was installed by local citizens in order to commemorate the Battle of Caulk's Field. This battle was fought during the War of 1812 between a small British Army force commanded by Captain Sir Peter Parker and American militia forces commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Philip Reed.
