Claire McCardell behind glass

Description

A full-body portrait of fashion designer Claire McCardell (1905-1958) sliding open a glass panel. She models her "futuristic dress," cut only of triangles, for Vogue magazine. Born in Frederick, Maryland, McCardell pioneered the creation of casual, comfortable American sportswear for women.
