Delegate Badge from the 1920 Democratic National Convention

Description

This gold-tone metal badge has three parts: a pin at the top inscribed with 'Delegate,' a red, white, and blue ribbon, and a medallion featuring a portrait, shield, and laurel leaf edging. The Democratic Party adopted suffrage, or the pursuit of voting rights for women, as part of its platform during the 1920 convention; the 19th Amendment was ratified that same year.
