Description

Amelia Prescott Allison Stirling began working at the Baltimore department store Hutzler Brothers & Company as its magazine editor. Over the years, Stirling accepted various promotions, moving into the positions of advertising copywriter, advertising manager, and finally publicity manager. As Baltimore’s first woman to manage the marketing department of a major department store, Stirling handled all advertising, merchandise displays, fashion shows, and store promotions for the Hutzler Brothers & Company.
