Elizabeth Parker Foulke Beirne

Description

Oil on Canvas portrait painting of Elizabeth Parker Foulke Beirne (1815-1864), ca. 1820, by James Peale. She was born in Pennsylvania and married merchant Patrick Beirne (1798-1876) of Ireland and Lewisburg, Virginia (now West Virginia) in 1855. The Foulke family was friends and distant relations to the Peale family through James's marriage to Mary Claypoole (1753-1828). Elizabeth and Patrick had two children. They are buried in Old Stone Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Lewisburg, West Virginia.
