Ensemble

Description

Two-piece ensemble worn by the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson (1896-1986). Consists of a silk brocade peplum-waisted short-sleeved blouse. The fabric is designed with a blue, red and white butterfly pattern on a gold field, and with a blue lining and collar. The blouse closes in front with a row of 15 small covered buttons. The matching blue silk skirt is full-length, straight and narrow. Likely purchased in France.
