Description

Group of unidentified people inside the Baltimore Afro-American newspaper office. "Murphy" nameplates are visible over the doors in the background. The newspaper was founded by John Henry Murphy Sr. in 1892, using $200 from his wife Martha Howard Murphy. The Murphys' son Carl Murphy began working at the paper in 1912 and led it for 45 years.
