Description

Approximately 13 people on horseback at the riding track in Tolchester, Maryland. Observers stand and sit in the stands to watch. Tolchester was the site of the Tolchester Beach Amuseument Park, which consisted of a bathing beach, amusement park, racetrack, and hotel, and was in operation from 1877 to 1962. The Kent County park was a popular vacation destination for Baltimoreans as it was only 27 miles across the Chesapeake Bay and the Tolchester Steamboat Company ran daily excursions to Tolchester from Baltimore, Maryland.
