Hebrew Hospital and Asylum

Description

A view of the Hebrew Hospital and Asylum located on East Monument Street at Ann Street (renamed Rutland Avenue around 1909) in Baltimore, Maryland. Founded in 1866, the mission of the hospital and asylum was to provide medical care for the "suffering and needy" and refuge for the "infirm and destitute." The name was changed to Sinai Hospital in 1926, and it remained in this location until 1959.
