Inkwell

Description

Grey stoneware and salt-glazed inkwell with blue cobalt decorations. Base inscription reads: "M.P.'s/ W.M.S." which indicates ownership or make by Maulden Perine (1765-1797) of Baltimore. His brother Peter Perine (1773-1819) was a well-known stoneware maker of the period.
