Jacob Glushakow

Oil on canvas self portrait painting of Jacob Glushakow (1914-2000), c. 1935-1950. Born into a large Jewish Baltimore family, he attended Baltimore City College, the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), and the Art Students League (1933-1936). During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, enlisting on December 17, 1941. After the war, he went back to work as an artist, painting mostly city street and neighborhood scenes of his hometown.
