James Barroll letter to John Leeds Barroll


James Barroll to his son John Leeds Barroll, discussing how he hopes he will be home soon. John Leeds Barroll was in the Confederate capitol of Richmond, Virginia after publishing a newspaper article that was found treasonous by federal authorities. The Barroll family was a prominent Kent County family in the 19th and 20th centuries.
