John Eager Howard

Description

Bust-length seated portrait of General John Eager Howard (1752-1827) looking towards the right of the composition. He has white hair and wears a black coat with brass buttons, a yellow waistcoat, and a white stock. Howard served as the Governor of Maryland from 1788-1791 following his military career during the American Revolutionary War.
