Letter from Albert Einstein to Grace Hill Turnbull

Description

Typed letter from physicist Albert Einstein to Grace Hill Turnbull (1880-1976), who was an artist and writer from Baltimore, Maryland. This correspondence accompanied a copy of Selig Hecht's book "Explaining the Atom" and is written on Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists Incorporated letterhead. Turnbull studied painting at the Maryland Institute College of Art and was a daughter of the novelist Francese Hubbard Litchfield Turnbull (1844-1927) and her husband Lawrence Turnbull (1843-1919).
