Description

Bronze medal commemorating the Revolutionary War victory of Maryland General John Eager Howard (1752-1827) at the 1781 Battle of Cowpens in South Carolina. Howard was one of eleven medals created by order of the U.S. Congress for soldiers who distinguished themselves during the war. They were designed by French Medalist Benjamin Duvivier in Paris, France.
