Mercury

Description

Carved, wooden Sculpture of the Roman God "Mercury" holding out what appears to be cigars, ca. 1830, made by Philadelphia sculptor William Rush. This sculpture was used in front of cigar shop in Cambridge, Maryland owned by tobacconist John Foble (1813-1893).
