Description
View of the north end of the hotel in Tolchester, Maryland. A water tower can be seen to the left of the building. Tolchester was the site of the Tolchester Beach Amusement Park, which consisted of a bathing beach, amusement park, racetrack, and hotel, and was in operation from 1877 to 1962. The Kent County park was a popular vacation destination for Baltimoreans as it was only 27 miles across the Chesapeake Bay and the Tolchester Steamboat Company ran daily excursions to Tolchester from Baltimore, Maryland.
