Portrait of Eliza Warner Wright and Ella Lea Wright

Description

Daguerreotype portrait of Eliza Lea Warner Wright (1798-1864) and her daughter, Ella. Eliza was the daughter of Governor Robert Wright (1752-1826), of Queen Anne's County, Maryland. She was the widow of Samuel Turbutt Wright, and after his death she married his cousin, William Henry DeCoursy Wright (1796-1864), a coffee importer and diplomat. Their children were: Clintonia Gustavia (1825-1902), married first William May and second Philip Francis Thomas; William DeCoursy (1827-1845); Victoria Lea (1834-1889), married Samuel S. Levering; and Ella Lea (1837-1861), married Joseph Pembroke Thom.
