Daguerreotype portrait of Frances "Fanny" Troy Markland (1796-1860), the wife of Richard Markland (1788-1868), a carpenter from Talbot County, Maryland. The couple were married in 1817 and were parents to: John Thomas (1817-1863), married Elizabeth A. Davis; Richard (1819-1892); and James (1821-1896), married Mary Elizabeth Matthews.
