Portrait of Jérôme Napoléon Bonaparte

Description

Daguerreotype portrait of Jérôme Napoléon "Bo" Bonaparte (1805-1870), son of Elizabeth Patterson (1785-1879) and Jérôme Bonaparte (1784-1860), Napoleon Bonaparte's younger brother. Bo Bonaparte was a founding member of the Maryland Club, serving as its first president. In 1829, he married Susan May Williams (1812-1881), daughter of Benjamin Williams of Roxbury, Massachusetts. The couple had two sons: Jerome Napoleon (1830-1893), married Caroline Le Roy Appleton Edgar; and Charles Joseph (1851-1921), married Ellen Channing Day.
