Portrait of Moreau Forrest

Description

Standing portrait of Moreau Forrest in uniform, posed between a column and chair. Forrest worked as a general physician for patients in Maryland's Carroll and Baltimore Counties, but eventually gave up his medical practice and was appointed United States Marshal for the State of Maryland in 1844. He served as a marshal until 1850, and died in California in 1852.
