Daguerreotype portrait of Sarah Cushing Calwell (1820-1886), daughter of Joseph Cushing (1781-1852), President of the Savings Bank of Baltimore, and Rebecca Edmands (1782-1836). In 1848, she married William Henry Calwell (1815-1863) of Baltimore. Their children were: Rebecca Cushing (1850-1927); Anne Marie (1854-1855); and Joseph Cushing (1854-1911).
