Daguerreotype portrait of William Bose (1796-1875), publisher of the Baltimore American. In 1819, he married Mary Goulding (1796-1859), daughter of Patrick Goulding of Baltimore. The couple did not have any children. In 1861, Bose married Elizabeth Emma Gilder (1835-1899), daughter of Captain Reuben Gilder of Baltimore.
