Description

Knitted beaded red, white and blue handbag. Red and blue stripes are decorated with steel cut bead stars, white center panel features "e pluribus unum" symbol with 13 stars. Design is repeated on back. Steel cut bead twisted interlocking loop fringe at bottom. Ivory silk lining encases casing for red, white and blue striped ribbon drawstring handles. Possibly made by Alberta Griffith (1832-1901).
