Ecru knit silk coin purse with ring cord handle. Belonged to Sarah Elizabeth Sprigg Long (Mrs. James Hampton Long) (1829-1911). A lifelong resident of Cumberland, Maryland, Sarah married hardware merchant James Hampton Long (1816-1874) in 1869. Following the death of her husband, she turned to raising their young son and daughter who were both under the age of five.
